In a brave rescue featuring multiple heroes, Jones, a crème caramel terrier with stellar eyebrows, finds himself plucked from dire circumstances and on the path to a forever home. Youthful, leggy and handsome as heck, this slightly bewildered boy has shown himself to be a good friend to other dogs, and has quickly warmed to the TLC of doting humans. He’s great on a leash and a big fan of treats, a novel innovation, along with dog beds, that he strongly endorses. Despite his movie star looks, he aspires to nothing more than a safe home, a warm perch and a loving guardian. We hope it’s just the beginning for this courageous boy.
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Jones is the sweetest boy who loves love and food. He’s always happy, wagging his tail, doing little happy stretches, and leaning in for cuddles. When he’s excited, he gives kisses, and if you’re standing, he might gently rest his paws on your legs for a sweet little hug. When he’s not being the happiest boy around, you can usually find him sunbathing in his bed.
Jones is a very gentle dog with wonderful manners. He automatically sits when I grab the leash so I can put it on, and he even wipes his paws on my front rug. At first, he waited to be invited onto the furniture, but he’s since realized he’s welcome anywhere and now helps himself on and off the couch and bed.
We believe he’s potty trained; he had a few accidents at first while adjusting, but he’s been great about going on walks since then. He really enjoys his walks, happily sniffing everything along the way. He doesn’t pull and is polite when other dogs pass by, sometimes wanting to say hello, other times just focused on his sniffs. We haven’t gone on a long walk yet, but I have no doubt this boy is spry enough to even be a hiking buddy. He sleeps through the night in my bed and gets along well with his foster siblings, respecting their boundaries and focusing his affection on the humans. When I give my own dog some solo attention, Jones patiently waits nearby for his turn.
He absolutely loves treats and food, and he’s very food motivated. He’s very agile, which is great for homes with stairs but means you’ll want to keep food off counters because he loves his snacks. Despite his enthusiasm for food, he’s shown no guarding behavior.
Jones has been through a lot and may need a little time to decompress in new environments. It’s best to take things slowly when introducing him to new people and places. Once he feels safe, his gentle and affectionate personality shines through.
If you’re looking for a perpetually happy and gentle companion who will always be by your side, with the best eyebrows ever, look no further than Jones.
