Bounjour, says Jean Pierre, with what we swear is the doggo equivalent of a French accent. This lovely little cloud of a long haired chihuahua floated into Muttville today with the languorous delight of a French afternoon. This distinguished Parisian gentleman had some trouble with his eyes, so they are now gone, but that doesn’t stop him from seeing (and living!) his best life. Which is a truly wonderful thing, but this little mutt is absolutely convinced that he’s in Paris. He can see himself in the City of Lights, drinking red wine and chewing on a crusty baguette, as he walks along the Seine and enjoys his evening. Just kidding, he doesn’t drink red wine, but he wouldn’t’ say no to a bit of baguette and we think he’d look positively dashing in a beret. We don’t have the heart to tell him that he’s not in France, as this is a deeply held belief that he’s had for 10 years, but in Paris it is tres chic to carry your 7 pound doggo on a bag as you run your errands. Or in a nice basket in the front of your bicycle. So he wholeheartedly approves of such activities. If you can see yourself in Paris with Jean Pierre or are looking for some adventure in your life, come to Muttville and meet him today. Until then, he says au revoir!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
While Jean Pierre is eye free- he gets around with ease and figures out new environments quickly. He is physically able to do stairs, but for his safety he will need to be carried up and down them, as well have any accessible stairs to him be gated.
Jean Pierre loves the company of other dogs, especially if they are mellow and enjoys cuddling with him. When he is looking for comfort, he will turn to another dog before a person. So far, I’ve been taking him out on a regular schedule and he is not having any accidents in the house. He will sleep throughout the whole night without waking or needing to go out for a bathroom break.
He can be a bit shy at first, but warms up relatively fast, you’ll know once you catch him rolling around on his back with the biggest smile on his face. Jean Pierre is a very smart dog, and likes to keep up with the other dogs in the house. Due to his sensitivity, he will do best in a mellow home with low/mid energy dogs.
It’s a pleasure fostering him, and watching his confidence grow every day- I can’t wait for him to find the best forever home!
