Wee long haired chi Ivy is in search of a forever lap. She has PhD level lap sitting skills; all she needs is a full time opportunity to show them off. Do you have a position available? She’s also silky soft, perfect for petting, and sweet as can be. Plus she’s lived with cats and dogs! Ivy is sure to be hired quickly; put in your application today!

HERE’S WHAT IVY’S FOSTER MOM HAS TO SAY!

Sweet, soft girl Ivy has taken some time to adjust to our home on busy Van Ness Ave in SF! She has a sweet, affectionate disposition spending her days snoozing and looking for warm beds to snuggle in. She is slowly becoming more brave and will venture out to explore the apartment but definitely appreciates having a bed in a safe little “corner” to dart back to, like a furry little Roomba returning to it’s charging station!

Ivy is still a little intimidated by new people and new streets, so she may prefer a home in a quieter location. She has learned to walk a few blocks at a time, but is happy to be scooped into your arms or a purse to stay out of the way of scary feet, bicycles and scooters.

She hasn’t barked yet but makes small noises to show when she wants to be let out for potty which she does on the grass, with some encouragement. Don’t be concerned if she runs away from the leash at first- leash walking is new for her and she’s still adjusting to it!

In the right home, Ivy will need a little patience and practice in “how to dog”. She responds very well with encouragement, but needs a little practice following on leash (“please carry me mom!”) and eating at scheduled meal times. She loves her dog beds but probably wants to be buried under your sheets and on your sofa more :)
