This handsome wiggle nugget is here for all the love. His hobbies include leaning into pets with his whole body, asking to be held, and accompanying you on walkies. Huckleberry is pretty active for a senior, and his favorite time of day is lunch. Did we mention he’s got the best smile?
Here some notes from his foster:
Huckleberry is a total love bug. He is a very strong walker and likes to walk lots. He does not pull on the leash. He is great with other dogs and very interested in other dogs and wants to socialize. I have brought him to the dog park and he does great with the big dogs and small dogs.
He is a great eater and eats all his food super fast and well. I have been feeding him wet food given that he just got his dental work done 8/2. I think he would do ok with kibble and may try that when he’s able to manage it. He really likes to be with his person but does not show separation anxiety and bark when I’ve left the house. He will follow you around the house to keep track of you,but will go to his bed and relax when he knows where you are.
He would prefer to sleep with you in the human bed, but he is doing well at being redirected to sleep in his bed. He sleeps through the night. He does not love riding in the car and gets a little stressed out around that. I have driven with him a couple of times and he seems to be getting better. I think driving in the car is new to him.
HIs potty is good but gets distracted when trying to find the right place to pee outside and I think would benefit from having access to a yard or live with another dog to help to show him where he can go pee without the distractions of the street activity. I have been fostering another dog, and he has benefitted from having the other dog with him so he pees where they pee. Also just circling the same block 2x and not checking out new areas helps him also. He is not inclined to mark inside the house.
He is a very cute and sweet boy, full of wiggle and sweet looks.
