Shepherd Mix
Large (50-90 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Howard is a calm, sweet, loving boy coming to us all the way from Taiwan!

He has a mellow temperament and is very well-mannered. Howard is good with people, good with dogs, and gentle with young children. Howard is doing very well and ready for his own forever home. He was living in a foster home with over 50 rescued dogs in Taiwan and seemed to really enjoy the comfort of a safe and clean home.

Howard started some basic obedience training and is learning at a good pace. He is crate-trained and house-trained. Howard is one smart boy and will make a lovely family dog.

Howard’s Rescue Story:

Poor Howard was living as homeless dog in a remote mountain area where there was no food and shelter. Her foster mom/rescuer spotted him while she was driving and quickly turned around. She got out of the car and opened a can of dog food. He must be hungry but he ate politely and was happily wagging his tail. His foster mom has a home full of rescued dogs waiting for homes. She really didn’t have the space to help him but couldn’t bare to see him starved in the cold mountain. She put a slip leash over him and he followed her to her car and sat nicely the whole ride home. Howard was rushed to the vet for a complete health checkup. Howard adjusted the moment he arrived at her home. All her rescued dogs welcomed him to the pack.

Howard had a complete health checkup and tested negative on his blood tests. Luckily,

he is a healthy boy. Howard is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and de-wormed. Please

give Howard a chance to live a wonderful life!

Here’s what Howard’s foster has to say about him:

Howard is gentle, friendly & a big fan of head scratches. He bonds pretty quickly! He has a moderate activity level, around the house he likes to shadow me & nudge my hand for attention. Out & about he likes both slow & quick walks. He loves to play if the opportunity presents itself too. His house-training is great, though I’ve always taken him out frequently enough that he’s never needed to signal to me to go out so I don’t know if he does that or not. He is in early stages of learning to sit, shake & lie down. He has ‘sit’ down pretty well. Howard also seems comfortable in a dog crate though I haven’t used that very much yet.
