Well, bless your heart, you’ve found High Heels! This tiny tan Chihuahua may have some vision impairment, but she never lets that slow her down. With her long legs, adorable floppy ears, and sweet personality, she’s always ready to explore, make new doggy friends, and see what adventure is waiting around the corner. High Heels is happiest when she’s getting pets, being held, and reminding everyone that tiny girls can take up BIG places in your heart. She’s sweet, curious, cuddly, and downright precious. Frankly, she’s working 9 to 5 at being the cutest little lady around, and she’s definitely getting employee of the month!

Here’s some notes from her foster :

If you’re looking for a little lady with a big heart, High Heels might just be your kind of girl. Named in honor of Dolly Parton and her famous love of high heels, this sweet senior is putting her own spin on the name with her adorably long legs, floppy ears, and gentle, affectionate personality.

High Heels is blind, but you’d never know it from watching her go about her day. Her hearing and sense of smell are excellent, and she has quickly learned how to follow her humans all around the house. If you get up, she’s right behind you. Kitchen? She’s coming. Bathroom? Yep, she’s coming there too. Loading the dishwasher? She’d be happy to help with that, especially if it involves licking a few dishes clean!

This curious girl wants to know what her humans are up to at all times. She absolutely loves food and would make an excellent sous chef, taste tester, or professional kitchen assistant. She also enjoys exploring the backyard and will happily trot back to you when you call her.

High Heels gets along well with other small senior dogs, but if given the choice, she’d much rather be curled up beside her people. She loves a cozy lap, wags her tail whenever she meets someone new, and is happiest when she’s getting affection. She’s generally a quiet girl, although she’ll occasionally let out a couple of playful barks when she wants something. And when she’s ready to play, her beloved Lamb Chop toy is always there for her.

She is a smart little lady who has already figured out how to use the ramp to get up onto the bed. At night, she happily curls up in her own cozy bed on the floor right beside her humans. She does well in the car, takes her insulin shots like a champ, and seems to be up for whatever adventure comes her way.

We’re still working on potty training, but High Heels is smart and eager to learn, and she’s making progress.

More than anything, High Heels is just a gentle, loving little dog who wants to be close to her people. She may not be able to see the world around her, but she has no trouble finding her way to the people she loves.

As Dolly Parton says, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” High Heels knows exactly what she wants: a soft place to land, a cozy lap to curl up in, and humans who will love her as much as she deserves.

This sweet girl has spent enough time getting by. Now she deserves to spend her golden years being spoiled, snuggled, and very, very loved.
