Hero that will steal your heart faster than you can say “fetch”! Hero, the sweet Pittie, is 70 pounds of pure love wrapped in a fur coat. This gentle giant has a PhD in lap-sitting and will convince you that he’s actually a lapdog. Don’t let his size fool you – he’s as peppy and playful as his smaller friends.
Here’s some notes from Hero’s foster:
Hero is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs I’ve fostered. The adjectives I’d use to describe him are affectionate, happy, and determined.
Hero has been with me for about 3 weeks, and this boy has quickly stolen my heart.
Hero loves all people and dogs, big and small. He handles himself like an absolute gentleman in all situations. He wants nothing more than to cuddle with you, get pets, and give kisses.
Hero is a big boy at 70-ish lbs. His mobility is excellent for his age. He can jump up on the bed without assistance. While he can do stairs, he would rather not have to do more than 3-4 regularly. Currently, he takes 7 in/out of my home. He hesitates because this isn’t his favorite thing (he’s an old guy, even if he doesn’t act like it!) To be fair, we do these steps for potty breaks, so he’s doing them quite frequently right now. Hero needs quick access to outdoors for frequent potty breaks.
Hero loves his meals—eating morning and night happily. He has shown no signs of guarding his meals, toys, or people. He’s such a lovey! He walks well on a leash but wanders side to side exploring. He likes nice little walks for daily stimulation but doesn’t require long walks.
Hero will thrive in a variety of homes with one or more people. He would also be a great kid dog as he loves lots of attention and is the most patient of boys. He is low-key and friendly, a true character of a dog!
Few final things to consider:
Hero wants to be on the couch or bed.
Hero sleeps in my bed and is a bed hog.
Hero is a lazy loafer. Sleeps while I work during the day.
Hero gets a bit anxious in the car.
Hero has lots of puppy dreams.
Hero doesn’t bark.
Hero knows basic commands, including “sit” and “shake”.
