#13130
Terrier/Pug
Male
21 lbs (medium)
Status: Adopted

Hans is an effervescent Perrier (pug/terrier mix to civilians) with an infectious smile. He hasn’t met you, but we know he believes in you, which seems downright cosmic until you find out he feels much the same about all people and most dogs. Still a lovely feature, especially when you add his house-trained status, ability to climb stairs, and fondness for short jaunts, long naps, and all-you-can-snuggle buffets. Perhaps more wondrous than his lovely nature is his graceful navigation of the world as a hearing-impaired chap. He knows some sign language, and his cheerful openness is a superpower. Come see! It’s written all over his sweet face.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Overall: Hans is such a sweet, chill boy. He has an adorable face and ears. He hasn’t barked once. Sometimes he makes these quiet old man sighs and groans — totally normal for his age, and means he’s comfortable enough to fully relax and be himself! We’re honored he’s taken to us so quickly.

He’s such a cuddle bug and loves people. He’s been a velcro dog, preferring to be next to us and follow us around as he observes our day-to-day. He falls asleep when I pet him which is so cute. Last night, he wanted to sleep right next to Phil. He’ll prob want to sleep right next to you too! This morning when I got up he was so excited! Yay, the humans are awake!

He loves walking! He loves pets (especially head and chin scratchies!) going for walks, and saying hi to everyone. We’re not sure if he can see or hear well. He does into lil walking grooves, but LOVES to sniff everything so a little patience and taking your time on walks will go a long way with this lil guy. (To reroute him, I just pick up him and put him facing straight on the sidewalk and he starts trotting along again!) We’ve gone for 30+ min walks. He comes alive out in the world, a little explorer. We plan to take him to the park this weekend, I bet he’ll love it.

Eating and going potty with no problem. He might have been fed people food in the last, because he’s very curious about whatever we’re eating, sitting and observing intently. He eats his food with no problem, appears to be fully potty trained (no accidents so far). So far he hasn’t used the pee pad inside.
