Everyone knows that the only reason you watch the Super Bowl is to tune in to the halftime show. It’s the same with life and Halftime The Dog. The real reason we are all here is to spend time with this spunky, smiley boy, who commands as much joy as an entertainment show performed for millions of people.

Here is what Halftime’s foster has to say:

Halftime is an absolute party! Full of life, this boy is 50% "Let’s go! and 50% "Let’s snuggle. Sweet down to his very core.

He is built for an energetic person, couple, or family (with kids!). He’d enjoy a forever home who walks, hikes, swims, dances, and cuddles. The more action the better but is totally ok taking naps while you work or need to focus elsewhere. He’s a great balance of energy and calm.

While Halftime is energetic, he isn’t destructive or aggressive. He’s playful – throws his body into yours, nibbles your hand for some “roughhousing”, and rolls over to expose his belly.

Halftime is a great dog who needs a bit of direction – I don’t think structure was part of his former life. Probably his biggest training will be with recall – the guy doesn’t understand “Come” but is so willing to please it won’t be that hard of a task to train.

He is a good eater and has learned to head for the door for a potty break.

He will need some dog socialization in the sense he thinks every dog is there to play with! He can get pretty playful immediately instead of introducing himself so some dogs have given him a snap or two. But if a dog does match his level of play, it’s heaven for this guy. I think he might do well with a playful larger dog in the home but sensitive dogs at home might find this guy annoying.

Halftime isn’t really a barker – a door knock might offer a chance for a yip but not excessive nor continuous. He does well left alone at home and just seems to sleep until you return.

Finally, Halftime LOVES people. He greets everyone with total excitement. He refrains from jumping on you, just wiggling around your feet and tail going wildly. Eventually if invited, he will jump on anyone’s lap. Just a total love of a dog.
