Gus..

Husky Mix
Male
X-large (over 90 lbs)
Status: Available from another shelter

Gus is looking for a hero – maybe it’s you? This 8 year old boy was bounced around to a couple of different homes and recently found himself in our care at the shelter, and it’s just not a good spot for a sensitive and sweet boy like him, so we’ve made finding him a home our highest priority.

Gus has proven himself to be very people-oriented and good-natured, even cooperating for a spa day to get him looking and feeling his best! Gus has done well in playgroups with other mellow dogs, so he might be a great addition to a chill pack!

We call him the furry ‘talker’ with impeccable leash manners. He has also mastered the “sit” cue, displaying his intelligence and eagerness to learn. While toys might not captivate his interest, he finds genuine happiness in simply sitting for a treat or strolling beside his hooman friends.

Another thing which sets Gus apart is his eloquence in expressing his feelings. He’s a natural, unafraid to express his emotions. With some patient guidance of his hooman friends, he’s practicing and improving to be an even more effective communicator, honing his skills one conversation at a time.

Gus loves playing with other doggies in his playgroup. His ideal home is one where he is a solo dog or shares his space with other equally mellow pooch(es).

With Gus, every interaction is an opportunity for understanding and connection. If you’re looking for a companion who not only listens but also has plenty to say, Gus is the perfect conversationalist. Get ready for a partnership filled with meaningful exchanges, heartfelt talks, and a bond that speaks volumes.

To meet Gus, stop by Oakland Animal Services during our open adoption hours: Thursdays noon-7 and Friday-Sunday noon-3, no appointment needed.

Gus is about 8 years old and weighs in at 99 lbs.

As of 6/27/24 Gus is still looking for his forever home.
