Gundo’s story began in Paju, Korea, where he was rescued from euthanasia in 2014. After spending 10 years living in a shelter, Gundo never lost his gentle spirit or his deep love for people. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers who took him on countless walks over the years, he has become incredibly social and well-adjusted. Now, Gundo is fully ready to find a loving, permanent home where he can thrive.
Gundo is a sweet and affectionate dog who loves meeting new people. He shows a preference for human companionship over that of other dogs, often bonding more closely with people than with canine friends. Despite being 11 years old, Gundo has a surprising amount of energy and vitality. His health is excellent for his age, and he remains spirited and enthusiastic about life.
When it comes to walking on a leash, Gundo is a true gentleman. Even volunteers who are new to handling dogs find him manageable and easy to walk. He is strong but well-behaved, and he adapts well to different handlers. Car rides don’t faze him either — he rides calmly and comfortably, making travel stress-free for both him and his humans.
Gundo prefers to take his bathroom breaks outdoors, and he is reliable in signaling when he needs to go. He is also exceptionally well-mannered when it comes to grooming. Brushing his coat, giving him baths, and even trimming his fur during the summer months are all experiences he handles with patience and good-natured cooperation.
Overall, Gundo is in good health. In 2019, a portion of his front toes had to be surgically removed, but this hasn’t affected his mobility or spirit in the slightest. He also is missing one canine tooth, but that doesn’t stop him from eating enthusiastically and enjoying every meal like a true champ.
Gundo is truly a wonderful companion who deserves a forever home filled with love and understanding. If you are looking for a loyal, gentle, and affectionate dog with a big heart and plenty of energy, Gundo could be the perfect addition to your family.
Gundo is currently staying at our shelter in Paju, South Korea, but she’s ready to fly Overseas for adoption! He has completed all of his medical screenings and vaccinations, and he’s fully prepared for international travel.
