Grandpa George! We love you Georgie!!!

This big, special guy is about as sweet as they come. He is blind but makes his way around really well. He’s enjoying his foster home with an older chihuahua friend. He is part of our hospice program but he doesn’t know he’s that old.

HERE’S WHAT GEORGE’S FOSTER DAD HAS TO SAY!

Grandpa George has been an absolute delight to have in the house and is a very cuddly pup who loves any attention from people or other dogs. Some might say he’s actually a 60 LB lap dog as he’s more than once tried to sit on people’s laps and is very friendly. Despite being blind and having arthritis he’s constantly happy with his tail always wagging.

George adapts well to new places but requires some additional attention, especially when on walks and in new spaces, to make sure he doesn’t run into anything. Being blind and having back/hip issues make stairs a ‘no-go’ for George. He really does need ramps or no stairs for the long term. Despite his medical issues George has a strong drive and positive attitude. Given the right loving care he will do very well.

While George is a hospice foster he has the vigor of a young dog and enjoys long walks and lots of time hanging out in a backyard. He is equally as passionate about sleep and typically naps for a few hours between each walk and easily sleeps 8+ hours at night!
