As you know, you’re never ready for the summer without the perfect pair of flip flops, but, luckily for you, this Flip Flop is one of a kind! This sweet brown and tan chihuahua is a laid-back and happy-go-lucky little guy; although he can be shy at first, once he gets to know you, Flip Flop is the cutest little snugglebug you’ve ever seen. Much like typical flip flops, he looks great poolside, and he’s a very mobile little guy, navigating his way around Muttville with ease. He loves a good neck scratch or pets, and he is summer body ready, with the cutest chonk you’ve ever seen. Flip Flop is looking for someone who knows that he’s the perfect summer essential, so if you think he could be yours, please stop by. Come find out if Flip Flop is the right fit for you!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Flip Flop waits patiently while I put on his leash, does GREAT on walks. He knows how to use the stairs!! He’s GREAT going up the stairs, a bit cautious going DOWN. Since our indoor stairs are carpeted he does quite well both directions. Because of his size, he should only use slippery/outdoor stairs while on leash so he can go down slowly! He’s a fast learner but I think he could slip easily on uncarpeted stairs.

Extremely affectionate and quick to bond. Flip Flop sleeps snuggled up to me all night. He is definitely a bed sleeper. The first night I had his fluffy bed on the floor next to me but he whined to come up and sleep with me. As I don’t mind that, we have had very cozy nights!

Flip Flop follows me around everywhere and has bonded to me faster than any of the other fosters. He’s very gentle, very loving, doesn’t bark, but occasionally snorts or gently whines if he wants “UP!” on the couch or bed.

We have stairs from when we owned a dog, so he uses that to get up and down off the bed. I would suggest any new mom or dad to Flip Flop purchase stairs for him to use to get on and off the bed. After our first night, he LEAPT off the bed to follow me! He was fine but I think given his age- leaping off tall beds should be avoided! He was VERY easy to teach to use the stairs and now he gets on and off the bed that way reliably (he still doesn’t love being carried although he’s much better now!

We are still working on alone time training. He might benefit from being crated (I don’t have a crate so not sure how he would do). I do think he should be with someone who doesn’t leave him for a full day… I think he would be quite lonely as he bonds so easily with people.

GREAT with the cats. Literally ignored them from the very first moment. Now will go to them and ventures a sniff. Our cats like him more than any of the other fosters as well.

Great with dogs. Has met dogs on leash and is fine. He met a dog that was unleashed during a walk (Flip Flop was obviously leashed of course) and that meeting went great as well.

GREAT with potty training. Had one small wee- wee accident the first day and since then nothing. Pees and Poops on walks- holds it with no issue over night.

All in all a fantastic little pup and I love him to bits!
