Who’s a good bestie? Fillmore, that’s who. A leggy, serial smiler in a sleek russet coat, this bouncy chi thinks it’s fine if you nap at work, eat directly from the jar, and develop fleeting crushes at the drop of a hat. (He also loves your boots and genuinely believes they were worth it.) He enjoys a party, a hike, kids, dogs, stairs and kisses – all at once is fine. Come meet this no-bad-days doggo who has the pep and ingenuity to MacGyver his way into the lap of a cat person sitting on a bar stool. Love conquers all, says our boy. Come see what he means.
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Fillmore is such a swell little guy! He is so affiliative and happily greets and hangs with new people and dogs alike. He’s great with kids (can only vouch for the 10+ set, but can’t imagine would have reservations with younger kids.) He is confident but not cocky; he is independent but not aloof; he is connected but not needy. He has much more playful energy that I expected from his 12 years! He will also happily follow your lead and settle in if that’s what everyone is doing. He is quite a balanced gentleman!
He appears to be potty trained and has had no accidents. He doesn’t seem to be a marker, even on walks he lifts his leg way less than I would expect for a chi who has lived 12 years unneutered! I took him out with my dog walking pack and he easily fit right in. Showed some signs of really wanting to cut loose and play but don’t think he’s fully out of his shell yet. He happily trotted around, exploring, sniffing, meeting new friends, and also checking in.
He is food motivated and might have fun learning some new tricks. He walks well on leash and doesn’t seem to have any noise sensitivities or aversions. I have yet to hear him bark! He does a tiny bit of whining in the car but eventually settles.
