Fern is a white chiweenie mix who really understands the power of a colorful accessory. You might think it’s hard to stand out when you’re white, but Fern has added an eye-catching pop of color with her lovely pink harness. Sometimes it’s the more ordinary blooms that turn out to be the most special, and that is very true for Fern! She sparkles with affection and gentleness, hoping you’ll choose her for your home garden, and she promises that she has lots of love to give in her golden years. She’s looking for a safe place to put down some roots and really flourish – do you have room in your garden for a senior sweetheart like Fern?
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Fern’s perfect day would involve rolling around in the grass to her little heart’s content. She loves her little patch of grass in our backyard and even learned how to navigate up and down the stairs so that she doesn’t have to wait for elevator service. It would be great if her new family had a little patch of grass, too.
Fern has a very clear space bubble where she wants to know where everyone in the house is, and might be willing to sit near you in the beginning. A household with young kids might not be the best fit because loud noises and yelling scare her (as do little hands that do not respect her bubble). She does well with our kids, 11 and 14, who understand that Fern needs space.
Occasionally, when she wants a head scratch (her very favorite place to be scratched is in between her ears), she will sit and give you a paw shake indicating that she would like a little bit of love (until she’s done).
