Far Out is what this charming terrier mix says whenever he sees a treat, as it’s a term that denotes both the awesomeness of the treats AND his laid-back surfer boy attitude. This sweet senior is just chuffed to find himself at Muttville, where he’s been super cuddly with the volunteers and very sweet with the other doggos. He’s ready to settle down, after the free-spirited days of his youth, so he’s trying to ride the perfect wave into his forever home. What does that look like for him? Cozy nap spots, plentiful sunbeams, and, of course, the aforementioned Far Out tasty treats. He’s willing to pay you back with adorableness, furry snuggles, and maybe a kiss or two. Sounds like a bargain!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Far Out may be a counter surfer, what with his deeply active nose, curiosity, and grasshopper-like leap ). He doesn’t sniff constantly, but he investigates smartly and very nose-first with a craning neck.

He’s very quiet, but is physically outspoken and will push up onto your lap to perch and press on you. Not a constant cuddler, but knows where base is. He walks a good distance at a comfortable speed and is happy to meet anyone on the go; he doesn’t seem to ask to meet too many dogs or people though he’s very friendly and calm if they say “hi.”

He handles stairs very well. He sleeps quietly all night, and although not impatient, he’ll race you to his breakfast bowl when you confirm it’s wake up time.

Only his third day with me and he quietly and pretty calmly (based on cam view) handled me leaving him alone for an hour or more; wiggles uncontrollably when I come back.
