Elwood, an inky black terrier mix of the sleek and lanky variety, is as handsome as they come. He climbs stairs with ease and he’s on board for snackies and a hike at any time. He’s a bit shy, but ready to be with a friend and trusted companion. You too? Come on down!

Elwood is a rare gem! He settled into my home within hours, belly up by my side on the couch. It’s clear he was trained in his previous life to respect boundaries. He is very polite sitting automatically before eating his food. He takes medication easily. He doesn’t try to take people food but does ask nicely with his eyes. He enjoys playing with dog toys and prefers the smaller sized ones that fit in his baby mouth.
He has a bladder of steel, even when offered the opportunity many times he goes only a few times a day. There have been zero accidents in the house. He recognizes when it’s time for rest when I sit on the couch. He will sleep next to me or on the floor in front of me.
He’s pretty smart! He figured out a medium challenge puzzle on his first night. He is quiet in our home and I have a feeling he would enjoy hikes.
He sleeps through the night. He isn’t a morning guy. He doesn’t get up when I rise at 8am. In fact, he was unbothered by the construction sounds in the apartment next to us. Yes at 8am :) He will toddle into the living room to sleep on the couch as I work around 9-9:30. He loves a good heated blanket.
He loves people. He opened up to me very quickly wanting snuggles and giving kisses. He is a really special dog soul who cannot wait to share his love.
