Doris is a beautiful senior lady with a heart full of love, just waiting for the right person to share it with. At 10 years old, she’s earned the right to take life at her own pace and that means she needs a little time, a lot of patience, and a gentle touch to feel truly safe and loved. Once Doris trusts you, though, her world becomes all about you. She’ll be your quiet shadow, your loyal companion, and your warmhearted friend. Whether it’s curling up next to you for a nap or simply being close by, Doris finds comfort in your presence. She may take a little while to blossom, but the bond she forms is deep, devoted, and oh so worth the wait. If you have a calm home and a kind heart, Doris just might be the missing piece in your life.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
For the past week my husband and I have been getting to know Doris, who is a lovable and playful character once she trusts you. At first she is timid but once you give this girl her space, she will let you know when she’s accepted you into her pack.
Doris is a great companion who follows me around the house and happily goes for car rides. In the evening she snuggles with me on the couch. She is potty trained (no accidents!) and sleeps soundly the entire night. When Doris is comfortable, she’ll retrieve a toy and give it to you to play fetch. She is quite good at watching where her toy is tossed and returning it to you to play another round. She can even toss her toy in the air and entertain herself.
This little lovebug is food motivated and will happily sit for a treat. Doris enjoys walks; however, she prefers to have her breakfast first before venturing into the great outdoors. She is good on walks and hasn’t barked at any pedestrians or their pets.
While this senior lady is ten years old, Doris has lots of pep to her step and can keep up with you. But if you want to chill out, she is happy chill with you as well.
This little chihuahua will blossom and thrive with loving and calm family. I hope this is you!
