There is nothing prima about our Donna! She is a laid-back, mellow little lady who will gladly let you lead the show. Donna is your standard terrier/chocolate snack/sugar bon bon mix who enjoys being friends with everyone.

Donna’s adoption fee has been generously covered by The Farmer’s Dog!

Here’s a note from her foster:

Donna is a sweet-as-pie little lady who would love to spend the morning sitting at an outdoor cafe with you and all your friends. She enjoys a very leisurely walk around the block a few times per day to visit her local restaurants and bars, greeting the neighborhood humans and dogs. If she can walk on grass, she might pick up the pace to a saunter. She particularly loves car rides, so she’ll join you for a drive-thru coffee, too (she needs to be lifted in and out of the car).

At home, she wants a dog bed on the floor. She’d rather not sit on your lap or on the furniture. When you’re home working, she might choose to stay with you, cruise the kitchen, or enjoy the view out the window. For her many daytime naps, she’ll sprawl where she can keep an eye on you. She loves having an open-door crate to feel safe in. At night, she may want to sleep in another room, but will come get you when she wakes up in the morning.

She is silent – we’ve never heard her bark, whine, growl, or howl.

Her rare kisses are so tender and sweet! She wants you to massage her velvety ears and play with her beautiful, thick, furry ruff.

Her back legs are a bit wonky so she is much more stable on carpet and rugs than slicker surfaces like wood or tile. She trips and tumbles easily. She can do a few small stairs, but would do best in a home that either doesn’t have stairs or with someone who will carry her up and down. Her foot pads are building up to walking on concrete. She thinks she has the strength and balance of her youth, so you’ll need to keep her from taking on too much. This loving girl just can’t say no to you!

Donna is building good habits with positive reinforcement. Even with trips outside every 3 hours (especially after meals) there may be occasional accidents. She has mostly learned how to use pee pads inside and will jog over to tell you she deserves a treat for using them. She quickly learned to sit on command, too!

This dark eyed girl is easy for everything. She has an incredibly gentle personality. She will be kind, even when startled or if approached with aggression. She shows no resistance to taking her medicine or for baths – she’ll even lie down while you wash her! She doesn’t shed right now but might lose her gorgeous thick, cream undercoat in spring. She stands still to get dressed and undressed for walks.

Her favorite thing is to watch you in the kitchen. Her appetite is big & she isn’t picky, although her digestion is best with simple, bland food.

Donna wants you to slow down, take your time, and enjoy the simple things in life with her.
