Dongha’s journey began in 2016 when he was rescued as a young adult dog. Back then, he was a bright and energetic pup, always eager to play and explore. However, his strong preference for other dogs over people made it difficult for him to capture the attention of potential adopters. As a result, the months turned into years, and now, 8 years have passed without a single adoption inquiry.

Despite being overlooked for so long, Dongha has never lost his kind and gentle spirit. Over the years, he has matured into a dog who embodies the saying, “Manners maketh man.” He has become a true peacemaker among his canine companions, always stepping in to calmly diffuse any tension between dogs in the gentlest way possible. He never seeks conflict and instead brings a sense of harmony wherever he goes.

While Dongha enjoys the company of dogs, he has an equally deep love for people. His warm, soulful eyes seem to say, “I love you,” every time he meets someone new. He cherishes attention and will happily lean in for pets, soaking up every bit of affection. Unlike many dogs who take time to trust, Dongha welcomes new people with an open heart.

One of his greatest strengths is how well-mannered he is on a leash. Even first-time volunteers at the shelter find him easy to walk, as he moves steadily and rarely pulls. He is also good for car rides, making him a great companion for road trips or weekend outings.

Since Dongha has spent the last 8 years confined to a small kennel, transitioning to home life will require some patience. He will need guidance with house training and adjusting to a new routine. However, given his gentle nature, intelligence, and eagerness to please, our team is confident that he will settle into his new family with love, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.

This is a courtesy post. Dongha is not a Muttville dog. If you are interested in adopting Dongha and want to learn more about him, please contact: HDS Rescue or ngohdsppl@gmail.com.
