Allow us please, to introduce you to the divine Miss Divine. We think we have perfectly named this practically perfect petite pup! Little Maltese Divine has had a storied, adventurous life of travels, tripping the light fantastic, and meandering along many fascinating garden paths. Or so we THINK. She won’t tell us much, because she’s a little shy and introverted. So we may have to coax her a bit to spill the fun beans. That said, she seems to love nothing more than a lap and a soft cuddle. Upon arriving at HQ she immediately jumped into the lap of one of our volunteers and settled right in for gentle pets and caresses. At 7 years of age, she’s on the younger side of senior, and will happily sit with you on the couch, enjoying your favorite tv shows and maybe a music video or two! Do you have cats? She’s all chill about them. Do you have other gentle dogs in your home? She’s perfectly fine with them as well! (Like we said, practically perfect pup!). Please come to HQ and meet this morsel of divine sweetness. You’ll be glad you did.

Here’s some notes from her foster:

Meet Divine!

Divine is a sweet and soulful little pup with a heart full of love and just a sprinkle of sass. She’s what we call a bit of a DoorDash, so she’ll need a home that’s mindful when opening doors and gates—she’s quick and curious!

She’s still learning her leash manners—Divine tends to walk with purpose (and speed!), but she’s making great progress with consistency and patience. She gets along well with other dogs and is a quiet, gentle presence at home. She sleeps soundly through the night and looks forward to mealtime with great enthusiasm.

Divine strikes a lovely balance between affectionate and independent. She enjoys snuggling on your lap, but she’s just as content relaxing in her dog bed—as long as she knows where you are. She’s definitely a Velcro pup who loves being near her people.

She does best with calm, predictable handling. If someone reaches for her too quickly, she may react out of fear, so slow, gentle movements help her feel safe and secure. Once she knows what to expect, she’s totally fine being picked up and held.

Divine also appears to have limited vision in one eye and may have some hearing loss, but she navigates her world beautifully and doesn’t let it slow her down.

She’s looking for a loving, patient home that will respect her boundaries, celebrate her progress, and provide her with the comfort and companionship she craves. Divine is ready to be someone’s little shadow and lifelong friend.
