Dillon is Muttville’s latest go-getter, this rambunctious senior has been going on little adventures since he walked through the door. He may be a senior, but Dillon has the energy and vigor you’d expect from a much younger doggo. While inside, he yearns to experience the great outdoors, so Dillon would be a great plus one for someone who likes hiking, going to the park, and otherwise enjoying all the outdoors has to offer. Dillon is presumed to be a beagle pittie mix, with a wonderful doggy smile and a constantly wagging tail. His enthusiasm is infectious, so his lucky family will constantly experience having their day brightened by a beautiful boy with lots of energy and joie de vivre. If you want the mutt equivalent of an espresso, come on down and meet with Dillon today!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Dillon is a sweet, happy dog with a heart overflowing with love. He was very attached to his previous foster parent, but it only took a day or two before he was following us around, wagging his tail whenever we so much as glanced at him, looking for opportunities to snuggle up to us, and showing how ready he was to love and be loved.
When our adult daughters came for a visit, he acted like they were old friends — just as happy to snuggle up to them as to us.
He’s the best sleeper! He likes to sleep on our bed with us, goes right to sleep, snoozes through the night without a peep, and only gets up when we get up. He loves, loves, LOVES his walks. The more walks the merrier. Once around the block or longer excursions — he’s happy with whatever he can get. You’d think he was a lot younger than his 8 years if you saw him bounding down the street — or at least trying to. One woman who spotted Dillon asked, “Oh, is he a puppy?”
He has a lot of energy! We found an old rope toy, which Dillon just loves. When we toss it down the hall, he tears after it like he’s a teenager, and doesn’t seem the least bit tired — although, after chasing it a half-dozen times, he does start to pant a little.
We have been working with him to slow down when on leash, stop on the street corners before crossing, and heel — with modest success. He can be playful around the house, especially first thing, though it’s short-lived. On the other hand, he’s good at biding his time until you’re ready to engage, and he’s not a whiner or a demanding dog.
In short, Dillon is an adorable, well-behaved dog who thinks he’s a puppy and wants to shower you with love and affection. He needs an owner who can work with him in one or two areas, but mostly someone who can respond to his big heart.
