He’s so small and gentle that I feel an urge to do everything I can to make sure he is happy and feels save and loved. Sometimes I can’t think of anything else when he’s here visiting Muttville. He soaks up affection and gives it back tenfold. Derek is the perfect little companion because he deeply connects. When he’s in love, he’s in LOVE. He keeps his eye on me and his other friends here, and sometimes whimpers lightly for love and belly rubs. He’s been working on developing "paunch perfection and his belly is a bit rounder and rub-ready than when he first arrived at Muttville. He’s in a foster home with a family including junior-high children and they too are also incredibly smitten with this little guy, naturally.
