It’s the perfect season for Corduroy! This sweet gentle girl will keep you warm and cozy. Corduroy is a giant schnauzer who will melt your heart. We don’t know why everyone is always talking about “who’s a good boy”, because Corduroy is The Good girl! With her laid back, and sweet nature she will make the perfect addition to any home. Corduroy is so wonderful!

HERE’S WHAT HER FOSTER HAS TO SAY!

Corduroy is a really sweet quiet dog! She enjoys going on walks and stopping to sniff around the neighborhood. She is great with other dogs, both on the leash and off the leash, with no displays of aggression or fear. She is well behaved when visiting other homes, making friends with the house dog and exploring on her own.

She eats and drinks well whatever I give her, so no fussy eating from this gal! She’s been sleeping in the crate at night, and though she barked for a few minutes her first 2 nights in my home, she has quickly become acclimated and has not barked since. I believe she may have hearing loss as she doesn’t respond to noises or calls, but she does respond to visual cues. She is a bit of a slow walker, so while she loves getting outside, she probably won’t be your marathon running buddy!

Corduroy was definitely potty trained, and we’ve gotten on a good schedule of regular breaks every 3-4 hours during the day. She did have 2 indoor accidents in her first few days but since then we’ve been on a good schedule and have had no accidents since. She would benefit from having access to a yard or a place where she can easily relieve herself on her own schedule if you aren’t able to take her out pretty regularly.

She also likes to play fetch with a tennis ball, so access to a yard / park would give her more room to play and explore! She loves a visit to the beach, getting her paws wet, playing with the other dogs and taking in the breeze. She’s a smart little lady, and has already figured out how to signal to me when she really needs to go outside for potty, when to wait for me to lock the door, and will attentively look at me for signals of what to do next, etc.

Corduroy has been good getting up and down stairs on her own, and she is used to riding in cars as she easily climbs into the passenger side of my sedan. She likes exploring around the house and often follows me room to room. She’s very curious, so giving her free rein of the house once she settles in would be ideal as she likes to keep tabs on what’s going on.

She has been great meeting new folks, readily welcoming and playing ball with new people she meets with no indication of aggression or being protective. She’d benefit from a house with other animals or multiple people to give her activity as I get the sense that my house is a little too quiet for her taste! She loves having her chin scratched and rubbing her head with a towel, particularly after a bath!
