Charming chihuahua Coin is aptly named, for this diminutive dog weighs in at only 5 pounds and enjoys being carried in a purse (aka sling). His eyes don’t work so well anymore, but who needs eyes when your preferred mode of transport is being carried around like an ancient Roman emperor? Despite his limited vision, Coin can navigate quite well after given some time to map his environment and then pops up in the most random places just like the coins in Super Mario. Coin will easily slot himself beside you if you sit down because he loves a good snuggle, and butt scratches are a must for this petite pup. You’ll definitely be a winner if you collect this Coin!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Meet Coin — 5 lbs of pure chill with the wiggliest butt you’ve ever seen!
He’s blind. He’s toothless. He’s 11. He fits in your jacket pocket. And he is genuinely the most low-drama dog alive.
Coin was found as a stray — surviving on his own. And instead of being fearful, he is confident. Strutting-around-like-he-owns-the-place confident. Nose leading the way, tail already wagging, completely unbothered. If that’s not the most admirable thing you’ve ever heard, I don’t know what to tell you.
A day in the life of Coin: Wake up. Sniff around. Go outside twice (done in under 10 minutes, very professional). Walk for almost an hour if you let him — he has places to be and smells to smell. Come home. Locate the coziest blanket or the jacket with your scent on it. Disappear into it. Nap aggressively — complete with the tiniest, most adorable little snore you’ve ever heard. Sometimes he dreams, and he’ll let out little vocalizations in his sleep that will make you stop what you’re doing just to watch him. Repeat.
He has never barked. Not once. He takes baths, tolerates a hair dryer like it’s a spa day, and gets dressed without complaint. Loud noises? Completely unbothered. He has slept through an entire party. He has slept through the vacuum running right next to him. He is simply not concerned. He is fine being picked up by literally anyone — toddlers, strangers, your most chaotic friend. Other dogs? Love him. Everyone loves him. He doesn’t pick favorites; he’s an equal opportunity snuggler.
But here’s the best part. The moment food enters the picture, mild-mannered Coin becomes a whole different creature. Suddenly agile. Suddenly strategic. Suddenly a tiny problem-solving genius determined to get that treat by any means necessary. It is the funniest thing you will ever witness and you will film it every single time.
Once he’s comfortable with you, he will find you and press his little body against yours like that’s where he’s always belonged. And his tail — oh, his tail — wags so hard his entire body shakes. Five pounds of pure joy, vibrating.
He survived the streets and came out the other side soft, trusting, and ready to love whoever will have him. He doesn’t need much. Smells. Cuddles. A warm blanket. You.
