Is it technically your lap if Coco Gauff has already claimed it as sovereign territory? This dainty little Parson Jack Russell Terrier is 50% high society, 50% low-battery cuddle consultant on call 24/7. At seven years young, she says she doesn’t need a dog bed, she needs your lap, preferably right now, and then again in ten minutes. She’s got just enough bounciness to make you laugh and just enough maturity to know when it’s time to chill. Friendly with other pups, ready to go up on the stairs, and always camera-ready, Coco is less of a dog and more of a lifestyle. Warning: prolonged exposure may result in excessive snuggling and sudden feelings of joy.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
So far, Coco is a stage 4 clinger. She wants nothing more than to be sitting on a lap, and she is very persistent in asking, though she will eventually settle for being nearby. If you are missing a shadow, look no further. She will follow you everywhere!
She does seem great with other dogs, and really should go to an adopter that has at least one playmate for her. She is not super clear on boundaries, so a dog that is resource guarding would not appreciate her.
She is treat-motivated (high value treats, anyway – not a veggie fan) and learns reasonably fast.
