Usually, “take a chill pill” isn’t a compliment, but, when you see our Chill Pill, you’ll be sad that there aren’t more of them to take! A positively precious cookies and cream mini poodle, Chill Pill has the face of a perma-puppy with the attitude of a really cool nana. With the black patch covering her eye denoting just a hint of mischief, you can tell that, even with her go with the flow attitude, Chill Pill can get up to a few harmless hijinks, maybe barking at you with a hint of sass or taking the treats out of their hiding place. Most of the time, she’s ready to snuggle by your side, so go ahead, relax, and take a Chill Pill today.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
She does great getting around objects in the house. She’s highly curious, and I find that she is motivated beyond food/other dogs. More than any other dog I’ve seen, she loves exploring indoors as opposed to outdoors. She has an independent streak and she loves to gently explore the various crevices of your home at her own leisurely pace, without knocking over any boxes.
She enjoys exploring the backyard and going for short walks, and loves sniffing plants. Her primary goals for her short walk are pure exploration, and is particularly excited when there’s a strong breeze carrying those scents to her. Otherwise, won’t walk long distances but doesn’t mind a stroll around the block.
Potty-trained – she currently relies on pee pads. She has been going outdoors or on pee pads. She does occasionally wake up a single time in the middle of the night or early morning to drink some water and pee, and in those cases, she’s been successful with the pee pad
Super friendly around adults and kids. Very relaxed on walks, doesn’t bark at other humans/dogs, and is neutral/curious when she encounters other people on her walk. Immediately receptive to cuddling and pets from guests/visitors to your house right after meeting with them
Has a playful streak when it comes to small objects. Loves to fetch a small bouncy ball and bring back to her bed. Will also love to bite into her leash and/or your socks, bringing both back to her bed too! I recommend sacrificing a sock her to stash pile…if she feels she doesn’t have something of yours to keep her company….she may go and claim your shirt or other piece of clothing instead :)
As her name suggests, she is super chill! She matches the energy of the people in the household very well. When you’re walking around the house doing errands, she’ll take the opportunity to explore by herself and sniff different objects in the house. When you’re stationary and sitting at a chair, such as eating dinner or doing work, she’ll take a nap nearby. If you’re sitting in your couch and relaxing, she’ll notice you’re free and come by and nudge you for some quality cuddling time!
