His name is Chaise and this little dude can lounge. But that’s not the half of it. This creamy poodle lad, who rocks some terrier-type brows and handsome scrufitti, also has the manners of a debutante and the wisdom of a sage. Snacks loom large in his legend – he gracefully sat and lay down when treats emerged, no commands necessary. He also digs a walk, as evidenced by his spirited reaction to a leash; and he’s very social with dogs and humans. We expect more happy surprises from this attentive fluff mobile, whose sweet affection and curiosity are already more than enough. Chaise is a social dog, but not the hype, life-of-the-party type. He calmly makes his rounds between humans and dogs, and has a particularly funny way of asking for attention: he’ll walk right up to whoever he’s interested in, turn around, and offer his butt, scratches from humans, sniffs from dogs. He’s friendly without being demanding and seems perfectly content just hanging out with everyone.
Chaise LOVES going on walks. It’s just my husband and me at home, and he seems to prefer my husband, so when my husband left the house one day and Chaise started crying the second the door shut, I naturally thought he missed him. I tried comforting him, only to realize that, no, Chaise just wanted to go on the walk too. Despite his enthusiasm, he’s in no hurry once he gets outside. He doesn’t run or pull us from place to place; he just wants to sniff absolutely everything and take in the neighborhood at his own pace.
At home, Chaise is wonderfully mellow and a very committed snorer. He snores so loudly that the first time I heard him sleeping, I genuinely thought he had asthma. Between his calm social rounds, butt-first greetings, leisurely sniffing adventures, and shockingly dramatic sleep soundtrack, Chaise is a pretty funny little guy without ever actually trying to be one.
