Chihuahua, Short Coat
Male
7 lbs (small)
Status: Adopted for hospice care

Cello is a super senior chihuahua with tan fur interspersed with white (the chi equivalent of salt and pepper, maybe sugar and cinnamon?) that gives him the dignified look you would expect for such a dapper gentleman. His pointy snout with a dusting of sugar can be found eagerly nudging your hand, either to encourage treats or scratches. He’s a quiet older boy who has slowed a bit but does enjoy toddling around to get a breath of fresh air. This majestic mutt is more of a couch potato, so he’d love to join you as you binge watch your shows or read a nice book (and he won’t hog the remote). If you’re looking for an older caramel chi to spend your life with, come meet Cello!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Say hello to Cello! Cello is the sweetest super senior around. He is the perfect size to tuck under your arm and carry around. And Cello WILL demand an airlift if the scenery isn’t to his liking. Cello has an adorable little “squawk” of a bark which will tell you when he wants more food, or to go outside. Cello is a little thin right now but don’t you worry, he is a hungry guy keen to make up for what he lost. Cello loves and is obsessed with food and treats.

Cello is good about going potty right away when you set him outside. He likes to wander around like a little roomba and sniff all the neighborhood news. Cello is low vision and hard of hearing so he does need someone to keep an eye on him and guide him around his environment. No stairs for Cello!

Cello is very mellow and easygoing. He is very chill and spends most of his time napping. Like every chihuahua he loves to be snuggled up to you under the covers at night. Cello doesn’t seem to mind our cat or our other chihuahua. He is easy to handle and doesn’t need much walking other than a quick trot out to the yard. Cello is not a fan of car rides (and he will tell you that). He prefers to keep his surroundings consistent and predictable, so he would do well with someone with a routine. Cello doesn’t mind being left alone. I think he would be fine with a 9-5 working family as long as he has a place to potty.

Cello is the absolute sweetest little old man. Come see the handsome Cello for yourself, he might be perfect for you!
