Meet Carter, a spirited red Miniature Pinscher with a heart full of energy and charm! Despite his age, Carter remains incredibly spry and loves to stay active, making him a perfect companion for an energetic household. He is highly social and thrives on interaction, always eager to make new friends. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate pup to brighten your days, Carter is the one for you!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
I took Carter home for a quick one night “get to know you” foster and here is what I learned about him. Carter is very inquisitive, both on walks and in the home. Despite being anxious in new surroundings with his little tucked tail, that does not stop him from wanting to explore and check things out.
He would also like to know what you’re doing and will follow you as you do tasks around the house. He does need time to gain some confidence, loud noises startle him. When hearing loud noises his eyes will get wide and he will stop what he is doing until the sound stops. This may change over time in a stable home, but I think he would do best in a calm and quieter home.
Carter does know his name and will come when you call him. He also responded well to being told “no”. He loves food and will gladly eat all of yours if you let him. Carter isn’t a lap dog. He will come over for pets, but usually settle by himself to lay down. He will follow you around, but then also get up on the couch and fall asleep by himself. He settled pretty easily in his bed next to mine for the night and did not have any accidents in the house. He was fine with our two dogs that he met and interacted with. They sniffed him all over and attempted to bring him toys and play, but Carter did not engage. He was very respectful of their space.
