You won’t need a Ouija board to make contact with Captain Howdy; although he has some devilishly good looks, this sweet cocker spaniel is a total angel. Long, golden blond locks are softer than your favorite cozy sweater, and nothing would be more comforting than curling up beside him in front of an autumnal fireplace. He’d love to say Howdy to all of your friends and neighbors, as he’s a charming chap, but he’s perfectly happy to stay at home if you want to keep him all to yourself. You’ll be possessed by a feeling of family as soon as you meet Captain Howdy, so we’d like you to control yourself…form an orderly queue to come adopt this friendly spirit!

We found that introducing Howdy to people outside of the house, allowing them to get acquainted and feed him treats builds some trust when your guest & Howdy enter
the home together.
Howdy is such a snuggler & loves having his owner home, but he does pretty well being alone. He isn’t destructive, he doesn’t have any accidents & doesn’t bark for long periods. He sleeps through the night, he likes to cuddle in bed but seems to enjoy having his own space on his dog bed. (The longest I left him alone was 2 hours)
When Howdy gets comfortable with people, his silly side shows – he gets the evening zoomies & has the cutest little bunny hops. He has the funniest smile with his little underbite fangs & he builds trust quickly with his owners. When I first picked him up he let me in very quickly.
Thank you for letting me be a small piece of Howdy’s story, he very quickly stole our hearts & we will love him forever. As a first time foster, this was a really bittersweet experience. But knowing he will find a forever home, with the perfect owner makes saying goodbye worth it.
