Brandy is such a special and brave girl who has been through so much it’s kind of unbelievable. They say that cats have 9 lives, but our Brandy girl is here to prove everyone wrong. Brandy showed up to Muttville as one of the most overweight dogs we had ever seen. She was so nervous as her whole world got turned upside down and clearly was not feeling great and could hardly move around.
Fast forward – this girl has been working on her fitness, getting that Hot Girl summer bod, and now is going for nice long walks at a good clip. She wants to keep up with this healthy lifestyle, so while she can still be a couch potato on lazy days, Brandy is looking for an active household to get her out and about and strutting her stuff :)
Fast Forward again – Brandy ended up breaking her leg and had to have it amputated, so another slow recovery begins. This sweet girl just couldn’t catch a break.
Fast Forward AGAIN – Brandy has healed well and is feeling like her happy slim, newly tripod self. You just can’t get this gal down.
Brandy is looking for a home that is willing to continue helping her along her journey to being her best self, and would benefit greatly from continuing on her physical therapy so that she can run and have fun for a long time to come.
We are all rooting for you Brandy!
-Brandy is great with other dogs in the world, but would prefer to be the Queen of her Castle at Home.
-Brandy is house trained
-Brandy loves her short walks
Here are some notes from her foster:
Brandy has suffered some losses in her life – a guardian, several pounds of excess weight, even a limb – but through all if it she has kept every ounce of energy, personality, and sass that anyone could want. Miss B. uses the tools at her disposal to make sure that she gets plenty of her three favorite things: love and cuddling, outdoor adventures, and food. She uses wiggles, eye contact, and around meal times, an impressive vocal range that includes sighs, moans, trills, growls and barks. She gets just as excited for the outdoors. Due to her being one paw short, we keep walks on the short side and use a stroller for longer jaunts, but she approaches the opening of the door to the sidewalk like you or I might greet Beyonce or a million bucks. She gives her all on her walks and can work up a pretty fast pace.
Brandy keeps steady habits. We go outdoors three or four times a day and her house training is perfection. She cleans her plate twice a day and sleeps through the night. She is great in the car. She is rather dog-reactive on leash or in her stroller, giving other canines a piece of her mind.
If you want a hilarious, loving companion, full of opinions and love, you should get to know her.
