This week is fashion week at Muttville, and we have some stunning seniors who are looking to strut their stuff on the cat-, I mean dog, walk. Bottega has impressed us with his poise and grace. While some might mistake his demure demeanor for shyness, Bottega has a sense of discernment he uses when deciding if he wants to meet new people. Once you’ve passed muster, he will nuzzle his chocolatey snout into your palm to ask for more pets, and you’ll be enveloped in the warm glow of a mutt model’s approval. Bottega has started to come out of his shell, so we’re looking forward to discovering more about his personality, but he’s a perfect pup who will make his forever family VERY happy. And fashionable!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Bottega aka Beau is a sweetheart with a silly streak! He’ll charm you with his Dobby ears and amber eyes, and before you know it you’ll be leaving dinner early just to give him extra belly rubs before bed. He’s a wonderful companion—happy to chill in his dog bed at home and work on his 17 daily naps (and is just fine being left home to do so!), but delights in joining you for a car ride, errands, or even just a quick trip down the street for coffee. Foster Mom has taken him along for a nail appointment, a doctor’s visit, and a haircut, and he has been a patient prince through all!
Don’t let his sleepy chill energy fool you, though—this cutie’s got personality for days! He’ll vocalize his excitement with scampering and throaty rumble noises to let you know how excited he is to go outside and join you for any adventure. His best party trick is that he will join you for downward dog—so if you need a dog to encourage you to stretch daily, he’s your guy!
He’s not much of a snuggler, but does love knowing that you’re nearby. If you’re cozied up on the couch, he’ll want to be at your feet or in his dog bed on the couch with you. He currently sleeps in his dog bed in another room (outside of the bedroom) and he is perfectly happy with that arrangement.
He can be a bit nervous when in close proximity with other dogs, so it’s best to ease into any interactions and give him time and treats to get comfortable.
His typical day:
- Food and a brief walk as SOON as the human is awake, thank you!! I have been a very patient boi!!
- Biiiiiig stretches and some yoga poses
- Morning snooze
- Longer walk and/or adventure in the car
- Afternoon bully stick or time with a favorite rawhide
- Another snooze
- Dinnertime and another walk
- Chill with the human. Bonus points if the Three-Eyed Raven from Game of Thrones shows up on the screen.
- Another walk before bed"
