We hope you’ve been packing that college fund, because this super smart girl is bound for an Ivy League school. Weighing in at a chonkolicious 60 pounds, most of which are her brains, Bonita will wow you with her comprehension and communication skills. If you want her to come, sit, or roll over, all you have to do is ask. And she’s so friendly and polite, always happy to shake hands with a new friend. Come meet Bonita!
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Bonita is a wonderful dog – she’s quickly become my buddy and she never leaves my side. She likes to stay with her people as much as she can. Bonita has a LOT of energy. She is very well behaved around and with food, waiting patiently for her bowl, and doesn’t beg. I’m taking her on more strenuous walks (and live on a hill so that’s good) to try to wear her out. Sometimes it works and she’ll relax and doze afterwards, sometimes when we get back home after a few minutes she’ll come up to me with a “now what” look.
She likes petting but often after 5-10 minutes of interaction she’ll come back up to me looking for more. I’ve bought her some toys and that’s been good. This afternoon I got her a big bone and she’s been relentlessly gnawing at her for a long while. Her tail has been wagging more with the increased activity and toys.
She is a good sleeper at night and she loves her bed. She likes snuggles and kisses but is selective and you need to earn it. She’s very happy laying on the couch next to me or in her bed within eyesight. I would say Bonita needs an experienced guardian who has time and energy to devote to her. Bonita is strong and she seems to act like a dog much younger than 10. She’s very good at playing fetch with the ball and asks to play sometimes. She seems to still have a lot of life left in her with her energy, ability to go up and down stairs, and overall vitality.
