Although it’s literary reference week (and Bonanza Jellybean is a character in a story), we can’t help but feel that Miss Bonanza Jellybean might have been given her name due to her diminutive stature rather than her literary likeness. This little lady only weighs 6 pounds, making her, for lack of a better term, an adorable little bean, possibly of the jelly variety. She’s also on the younger side, at a spunky seven years young and has been bopping around Muttville, making friends with canines and humans alike. With a spotless white coat and adorable blep, this mini-mutt is sure to bring smiles wherever she goes, which is likely to be anywhere you’d want to take her, as she is a very portable pocket-sized pup. One thing we’d be remiss in noting is that she’s named after an eponymous cowgirl, and this tiny chi-lady would look quite fetching in a cowboy hat. Or any outfit really, but that one feels apropos. If you’re looking for a teeny tiny cowgirl to come work on your farm, come see if Bonanza Jellybean is the one for you!
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Bonanza Jellybean is the sweetest cuddle bug tiny chi, and has already stolen my heart! She loves nothing better than to snuggle in a lap, and bonds quickly with her human. She’s a bit nervous after all the changes she’s been through, but getting more comfortable and confident each day.
Bonanza Jellybean is active, curious and very affectionate. She likes to be near me at all times, preferably in my lap, and will bark consistently to get my attention until I pick her up. So we are working on alone time training, which is probably her biggest challenge, but I’m sure she will get more confident being on her own with time and patience.
She seems to be somewhat pee pad trained – she’s had one accident on a rug, but otherwise has gone only on pee pads I have around the house. She does not understand about doing her business outside, it’s as if she’s holding it to go on a pee pad, but outdoor potty training could come in time. I’ve been taking her on 3 short walks each day, she’s a good walker loves to say hello to people, and is curious but a bit shy around other dogs we encounter.
Bonanza Jellybean is a great little eater and will clean her plate! She was stressed during our one car ride so far, so I’m going to try her in a soft carrier next time instead of my doggie car seat. Her preferred place to sleep is in my bed, snuggled close. Clearly she likes to be near her humans as much as possible – she is so affectionate and loving! Anyone would be lucky to be lucky to welcome this sweetest little girl into their heart and home!
