Bon Ami is the curvy queen of comfort, clocking in at a fabulous 45 lbs of pure English bulldog charm. At 7 years old, she’s mastered the art of chill…think spa day energy but with more snorts and tail wags. She is like a canine GPS with built-in cuteness, and she maps out new spaces around her like a four-legged cartographer and then promptly finds the coziest spot to nap. Great with other dogs, she’s the kind of gal who turns a playdate into a fan club. People are losing their minds over her sweetness, and honestly, same. She’s playful when the mood strikes, but mostly she’s into family hangs and being the emotional support potato. You know you need to make her a part of your family right away. Is she the complete package? Yes. Is she available for cuddles and compliments? Also, yes.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Meet Bon Ami! An adorable, hilarious, spunky, sweet, bulldog who is ready to demand head pats, identify the best nap spots in every room, and help you appreciate life in the slow lane!
She really is a joy to have in the home – bulldogs are full of personality and she’s no exception! She sleeps through the night in her dog bed (she’s a built in sound machine with her snores), she likes to do her potty business outside consistently and also has been walking over to our back door to let us know when she has to go out. She also hasn’t barked yet, so she’s a quiet houseguest as long as you like the snoring lullaby (we do!).
She has a good appetite, loves meal time and unlike her namesake cleaning product, she’s going to leave some food residue to let you know she thoroughly enjoyed the meal. She does better from a plate than a bowl and some occasional hand feeding has helped her scoop up more with that extra long tongue. Treats also most welcome!
Bon Ami LOVES a good nap! She likes lots of micro, and some macro, naps during the day. She’ll alternate from a cozy bed or couch to a cool floor spot. This gal is more of a shade dweller than a sun worshipper.
She likes to explore and sniff around the house and yard. She isn’t much for walks – her stubborn bulldog trait is most prevalent in this category. She walks when she wants to! And isn’t easily convinced otherwise. We’ve observed her enjoying off leash steps in our yard more than on leash sidewalk ones. However she is also happily transported in a chariot (wagon) so she can get park sniffs in!
She can go up a couple stairs, but not so much down (who can blame her with those incredible shoulders!)
She does get little bursts of energy and tippy tappies that crack us up. She has tried to initiate play a few times with our 9 yo pittie but he doesn’t know much about play so sometimes they do a small (slow) race track in the kitchen instead. She’s keeping him on his toes.
And last bust most importantly – the head pets! She loves getting pets and she’ll scoot her butt over to you to make sure you keep giving them and know she’s always just an arm reach away.
So do your arm stretches and get ready for a lifetime of laughs and love with Bon Ami!
