Here’s some notes from his foster:
Billykiss is a lover. Be it the noisy four-year-old next door, the senior with the cane getting in to the bus or the moody teenager on their phone, Billykiss will saddle up to strangers and friends alike wait patiently for a pet and if you disappoint will hop up to let you know he is there to make your day a bit better. ust reviewed the notes – sorry my write-up was not clear.
Billykiss is great around kids – I have observed him with 3+ aged kids and my youngest is 11. He is taking short and long jaunts, getting 15,000 or more human steps in a day. He will put on the skids if you are not heading to his favorite spot or towards his favorite person. With a gentle tug or a whistle, he will resume his walk. He will probably need some more leash help but he is well on his way to cover every staircase and hill in this City!
He has a crate and a dog bed. When he has had enough of humans, he will take a rest. His dog bed is by my workstation and he is happy as pie to help me get through the workday. Occasionally, he will step over and make himself comfortable on my lap. He loves snuggling on the couch with his humans or making each pillow in the house his. He is very motivated and that makes the training even easier.
Billykiss is a social butterfly once he is warmed up. His ears perk up when he sees a canine or feline friend – he likes making new friends & is very respectful when the new friends want space.
He loves the sun, and if there is a beam of sunshine, he will drop what he is doing and stretch out for a long snooze. We have never heard Billykiss bark. He spends time in his crate if the house is empty of humans. However, he does not like being left alone in the backyard and if you leave him alone to do his business, he will give a gentle scratch at the back that respectfully says, “let me in.”
Our family, even the moody teenager, loves this guy. He is mellow and spunky at the same time. He will climb the Potrero hill to look over the City and when you get home, hop up next to you while you finish your book or binge watch your favorite show. He is great around everyone, kids to seniors – felines and canines (he is not to sure about squirrels or loud birds). If you are looking for an amazing snuggler, Billykiss is your guy!
