“Ava is a lovely Collie Sharpei mix, 10 years young with plenty of good energy. Her mouth is so gentle that even when taking a tiny piece of ham you barely feel her muzzle. When her owner died his grandkids couldn’t take her and had to surrender her to a shelter, where she was not thriving. The kennel she was in was rows of metal and concrete cages, stressed out dogs, and almost no walks (1-2 per week if lucky). Her elbows are still healing from her time on the cement, but are looking much better. She had little to no human contact in there, and is desperate for love, requesting tummy rubs and snuggles.
Her previous paperwork said she was great with other dogs. When I took her to the groomers for a fluff and puff, she was fine with the other dogs, but but when meeting families who had dogs it didn’t go as well. Dogs with boundless enthusiasm who charge her wanting to play are not well received. She will do best as the only dog in a home, or maybe a small, calm friend. After an initial transition she is also good with the cat. PLEASE help us find her a great place. This is urgent.
She’s vaxed, spayed, and LOVES being outdoors. She can hike for hours, or for 10 minutes, whatever you prefer. The only indication she’s senior is a bit of a white muzzle, but otherwise she’s healthy and gives off a calming, healing energy. I will try to add pics here. Please reach out to me at 650-339-9312 with questions, or Darlene at Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC) 209-768-3630 to adopt. This priceless senior girl doesn’t deserve a kennel. She needs a home."
She’s 65 pounds, and is about 10-15 pounds overweight.
I will cover her adoption fee and will dog sit for free for the rest of her life (at my house, after this summer).
Please contact me via text at 650-339-9312 with any questions.
This is a courtesy post. Ava! is not a Muttville dog. If you are interested in adopting Ava! and want to learn more about her, please contact: Lynn via text at 650-339-9312.
