Apple Juice is that one unforgettable teacher you had whose patience, kindness and encouragement somehow changed your life. Yes, she’s an elder chi-terrier mix missing quite a few teeth, but that really doesn’t matter. If you adopt her, her name is still going to come up in your Academy Award acceptance speech. A sweet softie with velvet rolls under her chin and prim white Keds on dainty feet, Apple Juice is comfy with other dogs and always available for a curative hug or snuggle. A fast and forever friend, she’s also prepared to hear what’s on your mind without trying to fix it. Her vision isn’t perfect, but she finds her way around just fine. Just watch her tiptoe straight into your heart the minute you meet her.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Apple Juice is the sweetest little pup with a heart full of love! Apple Juice may not have the best (or any) eyesight and she’s missing a few teeth, but that just makes her all the more special. She’s a pro at mapping out her space, and her lack of sight doesn’t hold her back one bit! She loves a good cuddle, and loves to wag her tail. Apple Juice is always up for a treat, and her favorite trick is to sit up on her hind legs!
When new people come into her space, she might give a bark or two and act a bit unsure, but deep down, she’s just trying to figure things out. If guests give her a treat or two, she’s ready to welcome them with wags and cuddles. Tell her she’s a good girl or give her a delicious treat, and she’ll wag that tail like nobody’s business!
Apple Juice loves exploring outside, even if she has a little bit of a hard time walking straight! She’s always wagging her tail, especially when she’s on a walk. Just get out her harness and leash, and watch her light up with excitement! She might not go very far, but those little adventures mean the world to her. We’ve been working on her using the pressure of the leash to help guide her a little better. When meeting new dogs on leash she can be a little too excited, so that’s something we’re working on and something to continue working with her on. The size of the dog she’s meeting might be a factor.
Apple Juice appears to be house-trained, we’ve had no accidents so far!
Overall Apple Juice is a wonderful little lady, she’s so happy and easy-going and fearless! Her tail wags and cuddles are sure to brighten anyone’s day!
