Our Annie may be orphaned, but she knows that the sun will indeed come out tomorrow and she will be able to sunbathe in it again. This lean pretty girl is agile and enjoys her walks, but also enjoys her cuddles and pets. She’s a well rounded lady!

Here is what her foster has to say about her!

Annie is a shy but sweet girl who is happy to sit with you whether you’re on the couch or working from home. She’s lean and long, and is very dainty when eating or drinking. She’s been through a lot of different transitions lately and it’s taken a toll on her tummy. We’ve developed a diet that seems to work for her now, but we still have to encourage and remind her to eat and drink throughout the day.

Despite the sudden changes in Annie’s life, she’s been pretty solid on her potty training since coming to us. She will go in our backyard and while out and about on walks.

Annie is a very focused leash walker, only stopping for occasional sniffs along the way. She hasn’t shown much interest in meeting other dogs, or any interest in food/garbage on the ground.

If Annie has a love language, it’s definitely TOUCH. She loves to smoosh-sit her long body up against the closest human. She also loves head scratches and belly rubs. We’ve nicknamed her “The Burrower” because she will stick her head under your hand or arm to let you know when she’s ready for more pets or snuggles, or to give the occasional kiss.

Don’t let the grey hairs fool you – Annie is an agile dog who knows what she wants! On her first night with us, after I tucked Annie into her dog bed, she got up, looked at me and LEAPT into our bed (3 feet high) in a single bound. Once she gets settled, she’s a good sleeper and often waits for us to get out of bed to start her day. She can handle city hikes, and although she was initially timid coming up our back stairs, she walks up them by herself every time now.

Annie could do well in a home with other*mellow*dogs and/or kids. She seems overwhelmed by dogs with high energy. We don’t think she’d mind being the only dog to get showered in love and affection either :)
