Amethyst is a special little chihuahua with the cutest little underbite! She also has an adorable little furrowed brow, which makes her even cuter. Sadly this little girl comes to us because a Good Samaritan saw her being thrown out of a car window. The scooped her up and took her to the nearest shelter. Because she quite clearly hasn’t had a great past, she can be a little nervous around new people and situations. With that being said, she has come around really fast and you can tell she really loves people! She will follow anyone around from room to room in hopes you will want to be her best friend too. She will stare into your eyes, and it just melts your heart. She has warmed up really quickly in her foster home and is more confident and trusting every day. She loves to go on walks, can do stairs, and even has started playing with toys! Amethyst (we call her Ame) is so brave and it’s amazing that she still can trust people after all she has been through. She is looking for an experienced guardian who is patient and knows it will take her a little longer to feel safe. She would do best in a mature home. We have also found that Amethyst would prefer to be the Queen of the castle, and would do best as the only dog in the home. She will return your love greatly and make a wonderful companion!

Ame is so cute, funny and just cracks us up. She has become trusting so quickly with us and follows us everywhere. She loves to lay in her dog bed and can be independent. However, she has just started joining us on the sofa and will even come up on her own for pets and scratches! She has started to become super playful with us and even plays with toys now! She is a great little girl too walk and is pretty active for a senior. She is a great eater and very food motivated which is great for training. She is learning how to potty outside and doing really well. She also has learned to use pee pads inside and has very few accidents. She is so special and looking for her special person. She is so wonderful and we just adore her!
