If you are going to name a dog after Ada Lovelace, aka Countess of Lovelace, daughter of Lord Byron, and the world’s first computer programmer, it probably should be a little Yorkie mix with ears like Victorian lampshades who already has a Muttville boyfriend and a growing battalion of fiercely loyal fans. Youthful, affectionate and very fond of snacks, our girl is blind yet able to navigate the world with ease. She needs a ride up and down the stairs, but hops on and off couches, finds her friends in a crowd and enjoys her walkies. In other words, Ada is a gem, and you, if you’ve got a whole lot of love, should adopt her. That is all.

Here’s some notes from her foster:

No calculations needed, Ada Lovelace is 100% lovable. This curious little girl wants nothing more than to be close to the humans to get some snuggles and scritches. She gets around the house just fine and knows where all the best comfy spots are. She has good potty habits and has not had any accidents in the house. Ada enjoys sniffing the world as it goes by on car rides. She loves rolling and wiggling around on the carpet. She’s a quiet girl with only the occasional bark to say hi and the most adorable little snore.

Like her namesake Ada Lovelace is a smart cookie. She has learned where everything is and is able to get up on the couch and bed with ease. She loves a good snuffle puzzle and you can tell her nose is always analyzing. She is confident trotting around our small backyard. She was a little nervous walking on the street, but has become more comfortable with repeated walks. She also does great in the stroller and enjoys being transported to grassy patches in the park. And as if her ear floofs were not enough this little girl has enjoyed sporting a red puffer jacket on walks as the weather gets colder. (Just imagine how stylish you and Ada could be together?)

She has done well with alone time as long as she has access to one of her favorite comfy zones, the couch or the bed. She does not like being confined in a crate or dog pen when left alone, but will ride calmly in a carrier in the car. She’s a good eater and loves her treats, which she takes very gently. She enjoys sleeping in and napping.
