Abe, a black and brown Spaniel mix, was a member of the House of Representatives, defending the rights of animals with big floofy tails. Known for his honesty and his love of theater, Abe would pace back and forth in front of his fellow Congressdogs reciting the Declaration of Indepawndence. Some might groan at his love of puns, but Abe knows they’re just having a ruff day. Come meet Abe today!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
He really is a lovely little boy who follows you room to room and always plops down somewhere on the floor nearby. He’s a cuddlebug who will give you kisses when he’s feeling loved and he likes to sleep in bed and will snuggle up against you. He doesn’t bark at all. He’s potty trained and lets you know he’s ready with a little panting and pacing. No separation anxiety. He has this little R2D2 waddle when we walks (stiff joints?), and with some effort is able to do stairs but he’d probably be happiest if he didn’t have any. He’s a low-energy dog around the house and is not super playful but he does love to walk and he does it at a good pace. (He went 2 miles no problem). He’s great in a car and is perfectly fine around other dogs, cats or people though I think he’d be fine as an only child too. He has zero aggression with no resource guarding issues. He’s easy to pick up. He didn’t resist bath time too much though I think he was happy for it to be over. Despite being a dainty little eater he is a bit of a chonk so he will need regular exercise. Overall, he’s a very easy dog.
