Groupie’s foster mom says..
Groupie walks well on a leash! When on a walk, he will actually pick up speed, pick up his back left leg, and hop on 3 legs! He is trained to use stairs and a ramp to get on and off of the bed. He can do it on command, and we use the word “stairs” for the ramp as well.
When in a new environment, he will have separation anxiety for a few days, but if you work with him on it, he settles in.
We’re working on potty training and he does use the pee pad. So far, he’ll go to the door and whine to go outside sometimes. Right now, we have him on a regular potty schedule.
Groupie is such an affectionate, sweet little guy who loves to attack your face with kisses! His favorite place in the world to be on your lap, under the covers in bed, or snuggled close. He is super friendly with everyone he has met in adventures so far.
He can “cheek” his meds to make you think that he took them and spit them out somewhere later! He is a very clever little guy. He’s so clever, in fact, that he learns from my other senior rescue in basic obedience commands! He is wonderfully attention motivated! This little guy just wants to make you happy and proud of him, and how could we not be?
Blue Buffalo Natural Veterinary Diet KS wet dog food is what he loves for his kidney food, and for his meds, I powderize them so he can’t hide them from me later. Groupie does take some pills with peanut butter if he needs his meds outside of breakfast and dinner times.
