We have the sweetest most wonderful 8-year-old Goldendoodle who has filled our home with love since he was 7 weeks old. It is with a heavy heart that I’m looking for a new loving home for him. His care is now more than I can manage physically with my own health and mobility constraints, and more than I can continue to swing financially having been unemployed through all of Covid. Percy is truly the best dog ever, living to give and receive love, and rolling with every punch he’s been dealt in the last half a year. Sadly, he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in March and requires insulin injections twice a day. He also went blind in July and ended up needing surgery to remove his eyes in September having developed a number of pain-producing eye conditions. But through it all he’s maintained his sweet disposition and been an inspiring model of resilience. He still brings me his ball to play fetch, loves to cuddle, and happily comes, excitedly wagging his tail, whenever his name is called. He’s super friendly and loves to meet new people. And he’s never been a barker. I know he’d be a great addition to the right home, and I know he’s got a lot more quality of life to live with a new family who has more to offer than sadly I have the capability to at this time. I’m happy to answer any questions and be of whatever ongoing support I can to any prospective new owners. He’s also gone to the same vet his whole life and they can give prospective new owners more info about him, his likely lifespan, and any specific care needs. Percy is really an exceptional dog who deserves more than I can offer at this point and who I know would bring such joy to the right new family. Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions.

I’m also attaching some favorite pics here, some before and some after the eye surgery.
