8 yr old Lulu is a very special girl who will make a loving family member to the right person. She prefers to make friends with one person she can rely on. Once she trusts you, she will look to you for companionship and belly rubs. Deep inside, she is a really wonderful dog who just wants to be loved. While she was diagnosed with a low-grade cancer, she is showing no signs of illness and is not on any medication for her cancer. She loves her walks and is great on a leash. She is good with other dogs and ignores cats, but would be best as the only pet in the home. She will sleep through the night without a peep, and is lazy to get up in the morning. Because she is anxious with new people, she will do best in an adult-only home. Lulu becomes unsettled by loud unexpected noises, like a loud crash or high-pitched cell phone ring – and will become temporarily aggressive toward anyone she is near. But she will settle down quickly with reassurance and soft talking. She also does not like to be picked up – so she has to be sedated to go to the vet, get her nails trimmed or get a bath. She is currently on fluoxetine to help with her anxiety. Lulu needs one person who will be patient, caring and understanding – and she will return the love.
