Smokey is a loyal companion. We have only known him a week and already he follows us closely, looks for us when we leave the room, and waits by the door when we go outside. He is sensitive and responsive, he comes quickly when called. He wants nothing more than to please his person, and is very in-tune to his surroundings. He wants to be cozy and near you. He’s a snugglebug with a purr-like snore.
Smokey is a smart pooch. He has superb communication skills and is able to gently inform you of his few needs. He likes to know where his people are, which may be a herding trait. He could be around 10 or 12. We are guessing he is a beagle mix, maybe part bull-dog, or even something fluffy like shepherd or husky. He is around 45 pounds, and about knee-height with short legs. He has a lot of energy to join the group and shows enthusiasm to play and engage, but he also likes to sleep a lot. Smokey would do well in a home that can afford him a lot of attention, and even some other animals to love.
He gets along well with other dogs, enjoys walks to the dog park and very friendly socializing, not aggressive or skittish, just happy with a waggy tail. He may have come from a home that didn’t take him on walks too often, he needs some practice walking with a leash, and needs a big nap after his long walks. He mainly just wants to be hugged and give kisses.
