Hi! My name is Niko (aka Chico) I am a 7 to 8 year old Australian cattle dog/ Blue heeler/ Labrador retriever mix. I weigh approximately 50 lbs.
I am pretty famous in Studio City/ Sherman Oaks via next door as a guy who was rescued from the shelter at the very last minute. Thanks to the volunteers who liked me a whole lot and contacted my next door supporters A S A P ! Yep, I needed a community to help me!
I have wonderful folks who donated to me, so I was able to go to a great vet, get dental work, a complete check up and a CLEAN bill of health! I also have a wonderful foster- but am separate in her house cuz I am a guy who is best as your “only”. I do great walking in my neighborhood (I am told I walk like a DREAM!) If I say so myself, I’m so proud of my training, I know how to sit, stay, high five, I even sit BEFORE crossing the street while waiting for the “cross” command. I am a great on- lead hiker. I used to be kind of distracted by small dogs, but now I hardly pay attention to them.
I really love being near my person, and I love to help my foster mom in her at- home office. I have so much love to give, and I want my special person to know how much devotion I will have in my heart for them.. I CANT wait to meet you…I know you’re out there!

From a Nikko fan: Nikko is a dog who wants to adopt a person/ people so he can be an “only" in a quiet adult home. He is protective of his person, and needs an experienced dog mom or dad. He has had training and is a Rock Star in it! 3 more sessions will be donated to his adoptive parent/parents. Nikko is such a deserving dog. It is a tragedy that he has never had a home that adored or took care of him, but none of that has stopped him from being his sweet sweet self. Please consider him as an addition to your home, a more devoted dog you will never know.
